Attracta Brady
Born in County Offaly to musician parents, Attracta grew up on a farm surrounded by all things rural and traditional.
She commenced her musical journey at four years old, learning tin whistle with her twin sister from their father, John. Their mother, Eileen was always on hand to encourage practice. Attracta graduated to the flute and fiddle at around nine years old and has played both instruments since. As a competitor in Fleadhanna Ceoil, she won several All Ireland titles both at underage and senior levels.
A teacher of Irish and Geography by profession, Attracta also teaches fiddle, flute, and whistle to advanced senior standard and most traditional instruments to beginner and intermediate standard.  She has tutored at many summer schools and workshops in Ireland, Britain and Europe. She has extensive experience of traditional ensemble performance and solo performance and achieved a first class honours masters in traditional music performance from UL in 2007. She is an acclaimed adjudicator at traditional competitions and has adjudicated at county and provincial Fleadhanna and at Fleadh Cheoil na h√Čireann for many years.
Attracta is the current Cathaoirleach of Leinster Comhaltas, a member of the Coiste Oideachais and a board member of the Comhaltas SCT examination system. She is also on the Ard Comhairle of Comhaltas.
She is looking forward very much to attending and enjoying all the performances at Sligo Feis Ceoil 2017.
